Visit Le Morne Brabant (556 m) which was used as a refuge for runaway slaves in the 19th century.
La Vanille Nature Park, set in a beautiful valley, is home to various species of animals, reptiles and plants. At different places around the island you can spot rare pink pigeon, the Mauritian kestrel and giant tortoise. Dolphins, whales and sharks are just three highlights of the island's richly biodiverse marine environment.

The Seychelles are the oldest oceanic islands to be found anywhere on Earth. Sandy, dreamlike beaches with granite boulders, swaying palm trees, coral reefs and underwater wildlife make this country a dream destination. The group of 115 tropical islands in the Indian Ocean with only a few inhabited, is known for rich marine life and nature reserves.
The inner granitic islands of the Seychelles are the only such islands in the world, based on continental rock. There are plenty of places to visit on the second biggest one. Enjoy the stunning white sand beaches, like Anse Volbert, Anse Petit Cour (La Domaine de la Reserve) and Anse Marie Louise. Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette frequently make top ten lists of best beaches worldwide. Anse La Blague is stunningly beautiful but quite remote. The beaches of the south coast are extremely shallow, and from May to October seaweed washes up on the southern shores.
You can explore the lush tropical forests covering the hills. Visit Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve or Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve. Staying on Praslin is also a good idea if you want to travel to neighbouring islands (La Digue, Curieuse, Felicite, Big Sister Island, Coco). There are various boats leaving from Cote d'Or.
