The Bahla Fort is an architectural masterpiece and the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The castle is surrounded by an oasis. This historical fortress near Jebel Akhdar dates from the 13th century and is well-preserved after being closed for renovation for several years. Nizwa has the castle with old Portuguese cannons.
