Glow-In-The-Dark Beaches
The Maldives is famous for magical bioluminescent beaches and almost every island is visited by glowing microorganisms. At night, when there's no moon, you could see the astral patterns in warm coastal waters. As waves break on the coast or bare feet step into wet sand a bright glow appears. The beaches become sea of stars thanks ostracod crustaceans. They emit light, creating the surreal effect that looks like something out of a science-fiction fairy-tale.
The glowing organisms are highly unpredictable in the Maldives. There is no time through the year that you can guarantee seeing it, still July - December are the months of high possibility.
