Canada’s east coast offers visitors warm hospitality and incredible beauty. In this region you can witness the incredible power of Mother Nature, enjoy picturesque countryside and visit charming, elegant cities with historic architecture. As the federal government is providing free entry into national parks in 2017, this is the last chance to explore the natural attractions of Canada at no cost!

The eastern region of Canada includes the six provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec), that are incredibly diverse. Originally settled as part of New France, French-speaking Quebec is culturally distinct from the rest of Canada. Atlantic Provinces are known for history, natural beauty and a huge fishing and shipping industry. Ontario is Canada’s most populous province, famous for cosmopolitan cities, as well as Niagara Falls.

Where to stay:
In Toronto we recommend staying at 3* Best Western Plus Executive Inn with good reviews. Guests staying at this hotel can start the day with a free breakfast or take advantage of in-room microwaves and refrigerators. The hotel also features modern fitness facilities, an indoor swimming pool and free wireless internet access. Area attractions, including the Toronto Zoo and the University of Toronto-Scarborough Campus are only moments from the Best Western Executive Inn.

In Montreal we encourage you to stay at 3*Le Simone Bed & Breakfast with good price and very good reviews! This property is housed in a 19th century Victorian-style building. It features a continental breakfast, free WiFi access and a terrace with BBQ facilities. Each of the rooms comes with a flat-screen TV and cable channels. The apartment offers a full kitchen for the preparation of meals. Towels and linens are included. Toiletries stock the bathroom.

What to do:
Visit Ottawa, the national capital of Canada. It is home to Parliament Hill, many national museums, and the best Canada Day celebrations. Enjoy a view of Quebec across the river and take a stroll through bustling Byward Market.

Sample French cuisine in Ile d’Orleans. Savour regional specialties at a local sugar shack, nestled in the Quebec countryside, and learn about maple syrup making. Try pouring molten syrup on clean white snow to create the soft maple candy (maple taffy).

Experience the incredibly diverse Bay of Fundy with its outstanding national parks, UNESCO sites, and museums. There are breathtaking hiking trails, boat tours and tidal rafting expeditions on the tidal rivers. Jump in a kayak and paddle around the towering sandstone pillars, cliffs and islands.

In the Bay of Fundy you can spot whales, dolphins, seals, sharks and plenty of sea birds such as puffins and gannets. Whale watching excursions sail from various ports during the summer months. The bay provides the perfect feeding ground for Minke, Humpback, Finback and North Atlantic right whales.

In the region of 1000 Islands you can take advantage of paddling, fishing and diving. Stroll through village downtowns, play golf or take in a drive-in movie at night.
