What to do:
Take a walk or go on a cycling tour in the green areas of Luxembourg. The cycle path des Trois Cantons leads to many interesting finds.
Visit Vallée de la Pétrusse, which combine steep slopes, strange rock formations and the ruins of fortifications and bastions.
Walking fans can follow the national hiking trail of the “Valley of the 7 castles” that runs through the idyllic Valley of Eisch in the western part of the country. You can either drive the 24 kilometres route or follow the traces of the past on an exciting 37-km walk.
Berdorf is a popular rock climbing spot. Predigstuhl is one of several rock formations that you can climb on a series of metal staircases.
At the Gorge du Loup, outside Echternach, you can squeeze through gorges and get spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.
Medieval festivals, exhibitions and concerts offer excellent opportunities to discover the castles in a perfectly authentic setting.
Visit the Butterfly Garden in Grevenmacher or head to Parc Merveilleux.
Tour the wine region that stretches along the banks of the Moselle from Wasserbillig to Schengen. There are wine museums and some wineries, such as the Caves Co-operatives in Wormeldange. Enjoy the full range of Luxembourg’s food and wine specialties and find a great variety of influences in traditional cuisine.
