Meet the living goddess Kumari Devi at Kumari Ghar palace on Durbar Square in Kathmandu. In Nepal there is a Hindu religious tradition of worshiping young pre-pubescent girls as manifestations of the divine female energy.
The current Kumari of Kathmandu is five-year-old child, Jibika Bajracharya. Once the chosen girl completes the Tantric purification ritual, her life takes on an entirely new character. She lives an isolated and secretive existence, her family will visit her rarely. The little goddess will leave her palace only on ceremonial occasions, like during Indra Jatra, the festival of masked dancers, religious enactments, lights and colour.

What to do:
This mountainous country is perfect for trekking, canyoning, bungee jumping, zip flying, sky diving and paragliding. Mountain biking is also fun and at times challenging event. What is more, Nepal is one of the best places in the world for whitewater adventures. Rafting and kayaking trips are avaliable on many different rivers. Nepal’s geography makes for some of the best motorcycling roads in the world.
