In December and January you can take part in the Madras Music Season, which is perhaps the world’s largest cultural festival.

In Kochi you can admire the Mattanchery Palace (a Portuguese palace popularly known as the Dutch Palace). A stroll along the beach, particularly at sunset with the Chinese fishing nets and sailing ships in the background, is a memorable experience.
While in Mumbai, check out the Elephanta Caves, situated on an island in the Sea of Oman. They contain a collection of rock art linked to the cult of Shiva.
In Bangalore you should visit Tippu Sultan’s Fort, Botanical Garden of Lal Bagh and Bangalore Palace. “The Silicon Valley of India” is booming with life, complete with cafes, restaurants, nightclubs, gardens, amusement parks, shops, museums and temples.
