A Latin America feeling in Asia

The Philippines have been a Spanish colony for about 330 years. Roman Catholicism is the dominant religion and local currency is peso. Another local tradition is controversial Crucifixion re-enactment, held every Good Friday, as part of the local observance of Holy Week. Near the end of the Lenten season hundreds of Filipinos walk through the streets carrying heavy wooden crosses and whipping their backs until they bleed in imitation of Jesus Christ's passion and death.

National parks

The park is known for its grasslands, tropical forests and waterfalls, the largest being Haew Narok. Some of the animals you’re likely to see here include elephants, gibbons, monkeys and leopards. It's even possible to spot a tiger!
