Malta will have more European connections than London Heathrow! 10 new routes!

Next summer, Malta will have more European connections than London Heathrow, according to Ryanair. The low cost airline has just announced 10 new routes from Malta!

Ryanair is launching 10 new routes that will be added to current connections to and from the island in summer 2019. The low-cost carrier has unveiled its plans that it will operate flights from Malta to Lamezia and Perugia in Italy, Thessaloniki in Greece, Nantes in France, Cardiff and Exeter in the UK, Cork in Ireland, Luxembourg, Maastricht in the Netherlands, and Oslo in Norway. The Irish airline will start its new low-fare service from April 2019. Seats are already on sale.

This is quite something – when you consider that with these new additions, Malta will have more European connections than Heathrow, said David O’Brien, the airline’s chief commercial officer.

Last year the airline had carried more than three million passengers to and from Malta. Next year the budget carrier hopes to increase this by 15%.
