The rock formations grown from the sands are situated in coastal Australia’s Nambung National Park, near the town of Cervantes. These ancient desert limestone towers were formed over millions of years as seashells were broken down into the sand and then eroded by water and the wind. Tracks and trails will lead you through thousands of rock spires. The best season to visit the Pinnacles is in the months of August to October, when the surrounding landscape is filled with the colour of spring wild flowers. In the early morning you can watch the western grey kangaroos in the park. Baudin's black cockatoos and emus are also frequently observed in this area.
