Irish lowcost airline decided to cancel 80% of flights between midnight 18 March and midnight 24 March.
The reason is clear – travel restricions following coronavirus pandemic are forcing airlines to take drastic measures fo cut operational costs.
“Over the past few days, the spread of the Covid-19 virus has led most EU Governments to impose severe travel bans and restrictions, which have had a negative impact on the schedules of all Ryanair Airlines, causing widespread cancellations and travel disruptions across the network.” Ryanair says in a press release.
The airline announced that 80% schedule cut is planned between 18 March and 24 March. All passengers affected by this change should get an email informing them of their options and are kindly asked not to contact call center.
Ryanair plans to ground all remaining fleet after 24 March, leaving just a few essential connections between Ireland and UK. You can read full text of Customer Notice below:
