Sri Lanka re-opens for visitors starting from today!
Great news if you are planning to travel to Sri Lanka! Starting from today, it will be possible to visit this stunning island but with some restrictions!
According with Sri Lanka’s Tourism, visitors wanting to visit the country have to present a PCR test performed up to 96h before the flight. Although no mandatory quarantine is requested, “tourists must stay at a certified Safe and Secure Level 1 hotel for up to 14 days of their stay”. Change of hotels in the first 14 days is allowed only among Level 1 ‘Safe & Secure’ hotels. After that time, they are free to roam the country.
Aditionally, tourists must taxe at least 2 extra PCR tests ($40 each). One to be carried out on arrival at the hotel. The second test would be conducted 5-7 days after, or if any symptoms should develop before.
You’ll also need to buy a “USD 12 for a 1 month cover of USD50,000 offered by People’s Insurance PLC” when booking or on arrival at the accommodation.
