The major attractions in Uzbekistan’s second largest city include the famous Registan Complex, Bibi-Khanym Mosque (a modern replica), as well as the Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis. You can also visit the Gur Emir Mausoleum, Ulugh Beg’s Observatory and numerous madrasas (Tillya Kori Madrasah, Ulugh Beg Madrasah, Sher Dor Madrasah). In 2001, UNESCO added the city to its World Heritage List.
